Poster


Please register the symposium first and use your Eventbrite order number to submit your abstract (400 words limit). The deadline for abstract submission is the midnight of Saturday, Aug 30th, 2019. We also encourage poster presenters to give a lightning talk (you can choose your topic, either related or unrelated with your poster). You can read the rules of the lightning talk below as well.

Poster size: maximum 60 inch wide x 36 inch height
One poster winner will be elected: $30

Lightning Talk


  • The lightning talk is open to all the participants
  • Five lightning talk winners: $100 for one winner, $80 for one winner and $40 for one winner
  • Poster presenters who didn’t get a pick for the poster award are eligible for the lightning talk award
  • MTBA core members are eligible for the lightning talk award

Rules:

  1. 2.5 min - 3 min short talk
  2. All the participants are welcome to join the competition, but please register first (spots are limited to 15-18 people)
  3. You can still join the competition if you decided not joining the lightning talk during registering 2019 MTBS. You can always edit your registration information from Eventbrite after the registration. If you change your mind, do not hesitate to join the lightning talk now! The deadline of lightning talk registration will be September 5th
  4. We will introduce your name and institute for you first, then you can jump right into your topic
  5. You decide your own topic! Express a research project, attract people to your poster, or share your business idea, but please no advertisement for your organization/company
  6. You can prepare a slide of powerpoint (slide size: standard 4:3) without animation to assist your talk if you prefer (not a requirement), email your slide to poster@midwest-tba.org by September 5th
  7. Please tailor your talk to the lay audience! The presentation will be judged on the following criteria: clarity, communication, and engagement
